Heineken Star Player is the name of Heineken's newest invention for marketing their beer.
You are able to bet on corners, goals, free kicks and so on live in football games of the UEFA Champions League, simply through the internet.
To make it as easy as possible, they created a web site for this and an app for every kind of smartphone available at the moment. Just watch the video to see how it works.
Beer plus sports is a great partnership, so there is nothing negative about Heineken Star Player. You cannot even lose money because you can only win (or lose) virtual points and compete with your friends and the whole Star Player-world.
This would be a great idea for all football games, not only champions league, I think. If you make such a big betting contest in the web, you certainly have to separate between the nations' leagues and focus on the ones which are most famous, but I think this would cause an enourmous amount of positive publicity for Heineken. For sure, this Champions League thing is cool enough, though.
I am sorry about not being able to embed the video because I don't want a Google account but have to log in to get the embed-code of this video, so just check it out on ElmaAltShift.
