Forget about great advertising campaigns. Just tweet it, it's awesome!
Leave spending money on marketing behind. Social media will do it for nothing!
Hrm, hrm...
Ads for next month's Bessies Awards in Toronto, Canada.
For some reason, this seems to have become reality: Brands start twitter and facebook "movements" (what mostly looks like "follow us on twitter" or "join our facebook group" and has no idea behind it) instead of kicking off a convincing commercial on TV or doing some alternative marketing stuff. I don't think social media is an idea-killer, but it somehow hampers companies to spend their money on a campaign, where prices are the main argument.
Last week I read an article where Mercedes' communication boss-man was interviewed. He talked about how expensive this whole social media thing is and that people wouldn't like a brand anymore if it had no up-to-date community, facebook-page and/or twitter account. I don't really know if he is credible but I noticed Mercedes is launching alternative and print and tv and web- and social-media-based campaigns, thus he could have told something like the truth.. But he can't tell tweeting was a money-killing act ;)
These ads are witty, though :D
